how do we create a judiciary that is truly non-partisan?

A recent Appeals court decision dismissing the ACLU(the only true defenders of our rights) lawsuit brought against the bushcheney illegal surveillance program was dismissed by a republican appointed majority due to "a lack of standing" shown by the plaintiffs...they were not harmed and thus had no standing. We are all harmed by unconstitutional laws and when the judiciary validates those laws....see "seperate but equal" rulings for a nasty history lesson in supreme court reactionism and their role in enforcing government status quo.
We now have a republican supreme court that is trying to turn back the clock on the New Deal to the 1800's!! When robber barons roamed the land pillaging as they went like swarms of locust over this country and now the bushcheney want to unleash those forces?

ahh ruth the brainwasing has worked really well on you and many others in this country...as the ACLU represents often the poor and disenfranchised it is no wonder that conservatives hate them as they do not want to be reminded of the degenerate nature of their "philosophy"

We HAVE no "three branches of government" as bush has shown us every single day of his Totalitarian regime for seven years.

Non-partisan would be nice, but usually means, "Will support my ideals". For example, though both clam the title, ACLU is as non-partisan as the Cato Group.

That is almost impossible, because the Executive gets to appoint judges and Congress gets to approve the appointment. Of course, it would be worse if judges were elected--they would have to campaign bitterly like regular politicians.

The ACLU is a far left nut job organization that defend child predators. That one fact is enough for me to not support a single thing they do.

They also bully small towns and school districts into doing what they want or being bankrupted going through the legal system. Some defender of rights huh.

I take issue with your contention that we do not already have a non-partisan judiciary. As long as there are lawyers, our judiciary is non-partisan, because lawyers are people, too.

I take issue with your contention that the ACLU is the "only defenders of our rights." I take very strong issue with that statement.

As a Christian Conservative, I have watched, my entire life, as MY rights have been stripped by the ACLU.

I will thank you to stop trying to fix our un-broken Constitution.

If the appeals court followed the law, then they are non-partisan.

You seem to be claiming that following the law in this case is partisan for some reason.

If they did not show in court how they had been harmed, there is no case.
