Is It Racism?

Alright, i posted this before, and got a lot of feedback, so i will post what i did before, and add a bit more. This is what i said:

Ok. I don't like black people. NOW! Don't go saying im a racist. It's not that i don't like them JUST because of the color of thier skin, but because in general how they act. Where i live every black person is either a complete moron, or a criminal, or obnoxiously loud. Now this is just a majority of the ones i have seen/known. Does anyone else feel the same? Does anyone disagree? Please let me know.

Ok. This is what i have to add. According to Wikipedia Racism is a belief or doctrine that differences in physical appearance between people (such as those upon which the concept of race is based) determine cultural or individual achievement, and usually involve the idea that one's own 'race' is superior.

I do not dislike black people because of the color of thier skin, nor do i think i, or my race is superior.

The reason black people IN GENERAL annoy me, is because every single one that i have met, or had expierience with has either been involved in drugs, or gangs, extreamly lacking in intelligence, and just annoyingly verbose. Now, I know this is not everyone, so i cannot speak for the entire race, but i have never met anyone that was any different, and with what is on television, and what i live with everyday, what am i supposed to beleive? I know people TELL me that all black people are not like this, but i have no expierience to indicate otherwise, so in my day to day life, i tend not to go out, or say anything, because most of my neighbors are black. I know this may sound horrible, but i don't know anything else, and nothing has proven me otherwise. So my question is this:

Do you consider this to be racist? Please im looking for answers from everyone, and of every type. Thanks.

People who are posting would you avoid a black person, and not talk to them just cuz of thier skin color, i wont talk to anyone, im shy. When a black person talks to me, do i think "oh god, he's a criminal" I will listen to him, and if he/she is nice, i will continue to do so.

BTW i live in this area because im poor.

As a black man I'm more offended by your generalization. Have you ever got to actually know a black person. We're not all bad people.
I am a 35 year old man with a professional career. I am a Christian. I like all types of music (except most country and most rap), and I am very well read. I like graphic novels, and I write a bit of fantasy.
My favorite authors are George RR Martin and Neil Gaiman.
I'm currently in love with a white woman, does that bother you?
I have an interest in philosophy and religion. So tell me, do you hate me?
Not being confrontational just want to know you honest knee jerk reaction. If this response upset you then I think you know the answer.

Why don't you turn the TV on and you'll see that their are plenty of intelligent "black" people! Do you not know that one of the most wealthiest women in the world is a "black" women! I guess I can't say you are being racist but what you are saying is completely stupid! That's like saying, every blonde is a bimbo or every Mexican is an orange picker! While the black people you come across may be uneducated, you are very wrong to say that they are all the same! I can understand that you don't want to surround yourself with bad things but every single race has it's flaws! After all, we are all human!

I cannot stand when people bunch races or groups of people into categories and say they are all the same. Stop judging others and maybe try to see where they are coming from. I'm not saying that they have a great reason for being the way they are but that is what they know. You are taught by your parents(or a parental figure) to be the person you are today. My advice, don't judge others and be more open minded about where they are coming from and think of them as fellow human beings! Just trying to live their life!

I think that more than anything you are being unfair. You shouldn't let the actions of others influence what you think about an entire race.

Think about it like this. I am going to pick someone that probably all of us have heard of before ok?

Paris Hilton, now she doesn't seem to bright, she says the dumbest things, she has been involved in drugs, she parties, she has said the n-word several times before, and picks on poor people. Now if I would take that, and just generalize all white people to be exactly like her, that would be completely unfair to the white community. I have met several white people that act just like I describe Paris Hilton, but I know that those people I have met in no way reflect the entire white community. You just really need to get away from wherever you are, because it really shocks me that you have not met one decent black person.


Also I agree with what some of the others have said. Maybe you just don't like that type of person, someone loud, obnoxious and involved in drugs. Trust me, I have met plenty of whites and other races, that do those very things.

If you say, "I don't like black people," then yes, you are a racist.

You are trying to qualify your reasonings by saying "ALL black people where I live.. blah, blah, blah..." but even you must see that this is incorrect. You've spoken with and surveyed EVERY black person where you live? I highly doubt that.

Have you never met an obnoxious white person?

You are trying to say, "I don't like morons, criminals, or obnoxious people." Well, I'm not crazy about morons either. I'm not too keen on criminals. And, I too, dislike obnoxious people. I have met many a white moron. I happen to know that most of these child molestors and seriel killers you hear about are WHITE, and I happen to live across the street from a house of incredibly obnoxious white college boys.

Try to be honest with what you're saying/ thinking. You're attaching attributes to people based on their skin color, and claiming that it's those attributes that you don't like. NOBODY likes those qualities! But you need to wake up and take notice that they're not limited to a particular race. If you've never known a moronic, obnoxious white person, you've probably never looked in the mirror.

a number of those responses are ridiculous. As an American, i'm beginning to attain how racist Britain truly is. include variety as a exchange of questioning "Oh no!! they're taking on". I literary have friends from just about each way of existence which you may imagine, and it has surely made me a greater helpful individual. Even the deep south of the US, which has a undesirable popularity for racism, isn't close to as undesirable as what I see on a number of those message boards. I grew up in an area the place i exchange into the only white toddler, and that i exchange into at cases discriminated against, yet i do no longer make generalizations of all minorities as a results of fact of it.

No, I wouldn't say you are racist. But you are ignorant. Just because the people around you are idiots does NOT mean ALL Black people act that way. Where I live ALL the Black people are intelligent and have more money than White people. Bigger houses, expensive clothing, and fancy cars. I'm sorry that you live around a bunch of idiots.Why don't you just move to a nicer neighborhood then? Like over here where all of us Black have some dam*n sense.

Also, over here White people are the minority. White people over here live in really crappy trailer trash houses and are more poor than every other race. While us Black people, like I said, live in big houses, have nice expensive clothes, and nice fancy cars.

I have never used drugs and personally have never known anyone within my circle of friends that have been involved in gang activity. Also seeing that I'm in college and have a 3.7 gpa, I'd like to think I have a lot of gray matter upstairs. Therefore, we are not all the way that you perceive us to be. I know you said that you already know that but I just thought I'd throw that in for good measure. The only way to really find this out for yourself is to travel and get exposed to more than just the black people in your neighborhood. I do commend you for at least being open enough to realize that you have a problem (yes, it is a problem) but I would say that you are more prejuidiced than racist. Because of the bad experiences you've had with the black people around you your mind now associates all black people with that stigma. I'm not sure where you would start or what steps you would take to get over this but at least you're taking the first one......

I can easily say there is know point to this question, but to get negative feed back and see how many other people dislike Blacks. Okay we get it, white people (some) still think they are above all races and their race does not include criminals, losers, welfare recipients, drug dealers, etc.

Get off your high horse now. I know and socialize with many well intellectual Black American people as I do White and Hispanic.

People like you spend your day trying to depict the difference between the two races when there isn't any difference, but skin.

Let’s really see what the difference is:

Blacks steal from other people.....Whites steal from their own or use embezzlement and steal from an entire corporation. (All is stealing to me)

There are some uneducated blacks like Flava Flav that get his own dumb T.V show....There are some uneducated whites like George Bush that corrupts the entire U.S.A.

Quit spending time trying find out what is wrong with our race and figure out why yours is trying to be like Black America. No amount of plastic surgery, plucking and plumping, penis enhancement, will ever equal to the amount of pride a Black person have. What will you do when your people transform?

You are going to catch hell for this question. I feel the same way. I grew up with nothing but black people and was treated by my own people as if I were black. My views didn't change until I grew older. Very seldom are my preconceived notions proven wrong in situations. I believe most blacks are the way you say. Not all blacks. I'm so happy to see an educated, well spoken black person. I often wonder if they are completely embarrassed by their lower class. I'm tired of the attitude of "I'll do what ever I want to, and if you don't like it, you're racist." Or if I don't get my way, it's because I'm black. I believe it is these attitudes that lead people like you and I to feel the way we do. No, it has nothing to do with skin color, only attitude and way of life.
