wow, what a loaded question. first off whoever answered that new yorkers are the most obnoxious people in general should relax. thats a pretty ignorant thing to say. its says more about you than about nyers. of course, every team has its share of bad fans. not all are bad obviously. but as someone who has lived in nyc my whole life and travelled to other cities, i'd say yankee fans have the largest percentage of obnoxious fans. but from my experience most of these people are not true fans. they just jump on the bandwagon screaming jeter this, mariano that, we rule, 26 championships etc... these people could not tell you what jeter hit last year or how many wins mussina had last year. the real yankee fans that watch most of the games are regular intelligent baseball fans. nyc is also a special place but can be tough and fast. some people and some players as we have seen cant handle it. some nyers get cocky because they know if they can succeed in ny they can succeed anywhere else. theres a certain amount of pride in it. mets rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Us as Yankees fans have to win or hear it from every other team because we have more money and more rings. Those teams dont have half as much history as the yankees do. Every team has its ups and down but only the Yankees get laughed at when we get behind in the standings. And even worse now the Mets are winning so all the so called fans are becoming Met fans and hopping on the winning band wagon. So some people should just shut their mouth and watch the game instead of criticizing players that are way more talented than you or your children or your grandchildren will ever be.

I use to think it was Yankee fans. However Red Sox fans have surpassed them. The Red Sox win one finally and now they think they are the greatest.
