ndmagicman-you sound as if you have inside information. Are you on the "inside."?

I love how the people who think there are secret conspiratorial meetings going on, are the same ones that claim to know exactly what went on in those "Secret" meetings.

In my opinion, the prison term was the least of all the punishment. If Bush really wanted to keep Libby from "talking", why didn't he take away the enormous fine? Why didn't he give him a pardon? The man has been disbarred and shamed beyond reason. He will never be able to practice his chosen profession again-law. And you think Bush was giving him an incentive not to talk?

And as far as Libby's conviction-you try to remember everyone you spoke with about any given subject and exactly what you said. Especially when it was a year or more ago. And let us not forget that the trip-up had nothing to do with the "leaking" of Plame's name, because everyone, including the prosecutor, was privy to who that was before they quit calling Libby in to testify. What did they continue to badger the man for?

OK Mel, just answer the question!

Why is the white house being blamed? Because if you merely say a republican did it, then you can count on the media to convict them. No matter whether the charge itself even makes any sense. Like in this case, when the woman in question was not even covert. Her own superior came out early on asking what all the fuss was about, and she herself was posing for Vanity Fair, making herself out to be a female James Bond, like the fame _____ that she is.

And just ask yourself, if saying this woman's name really violated some law, then why is the very man who actually spoke her name getting off scot free?

Plame wasn't covert. End of story. No covert CIA employee works 9 to 5 at CIA headquarters. Plame was walking in and out of the front door five days a week. The prosecutor knew this his first day on the job. So what exactly was he investigating for two years?

And do you think that Armitage just leaked Plame's name by chance? He was told to (obviously by Cheney with for sure Rove knowledge and probably Bush being aware of it also). So the White House authorized the leak, used Armitage and Libby to spread the leak around the media, tried to help cover up where the leak came from, and knowing told Libby to lie and take the blame in exchange for being 'taking care of' later. You see nothing wrong with the actions of the administration? Or has the Bush administration lied so frequently that you consider it common and no big deal anymore?

The more the Democrats keep the countries eyes off their failures, the more chance they have of regaining The White House.... Otherwise Bush firing 8 Federal judges (a non-comparison to Clinton's 90+) or Libby etc.. would be non-issues..

He might not be able to practice law but he could always write another cheap trashy novel. Let me spell somethings out for you, Yes Clinton got rid of 90 prosecutors after his first term before his second term started, say as most presidents, not unusual, Bush got rid of 8, mid term, for "Poor performance" when most had been given great reviews, just prior to being let go, Iglesias also was let go because of frequent absences, which was from mandatory 40-day per year service as part of the Navy Reserve, in which he still serves as a commander, against the law to do so. Yes they serve "At the pleasure of the President" (which just makes it sound bad) but they are they to follow the letter of the law, which the White House has constantly ignored or distorted to their advantage. To all of you Bush supporters who claim everything is right and peachy with what he's doing, ask yourselves this do you want Hilary to have the same powers they have claimed for themselves?

Prosecuting attorney Patrick Fitsgerald is a bias / official card carrying member of the Democrap party. He has admitted to DNC donations through the years and dogedly pursued Libby when Plames husband clearly had discrepencies in his testimony he choose to ignore.

It was a witch hunt start to finish.

Give me a break. Valerie Plame was a low-level CIA agent anyway, and everyone knew that she was. It's just another way the media tries to hurt Bush by making a mountain out of a molehill.

Bush loves to take the applause but always has someone else to take the blame when it goes wrong, first rule of being a president.
However other people see it that if the president takes the applause then he must take the blame. If he tells someone to leak this information, then it is his fault, though he won´t admit it.
