How do I format my HDD which has Win 98, and won't allow me to reformat?????

You should be able to do it from a Windows CD, or use the Windows 98 floppy disk and use the fdisk command.

Obviously you cannot reformat your HDD from within windows if this is the system containing the OS. You need to create a start-up floppy disk to install Win98. Then reformat your computer from within start-up disk.

You usually boot from a diskette or CD when formatting the hard drive. You can create a boot floopy first, (with copies of FDISK.EXE and FORMAT.COM) or boot from the Windows CD and delete the existing hard disk partition from there.
