Yes. I hope it works better for you than it did for us. My ex refused to give up all contact with the woman. It was at that point that our counselor suggested we give up because he wasn't committed to saving the relationship. I also came to the realization that I could never trust him again. I didn't want to go the rest of my life looking for signs of the cheating again or distrusting everything he said or wondering where he had been every time he came home 30 minutes late. If you can get past the trust issues there is a chance. If not, you have to wonder if you can live the rest of your life with the doubt. I couldn't. Good luck.

I have counseled many couples where an emotional affair was the issue, and I commend people who come in to help handle them. Often, they are just as devastating as an extramarital affair.
An important thing to remember in counseling is to be open and honest and willing to accept suggestions and change. I see a lot of couples who just want the counselor to side with them, but he or she will not "take sides" and instead offer solutions of how to regain trust and strengthen your marriage.
Good luck.

I have, an emotional affair is to me worse that a physical one. They confide everything to that other person. For me it was really upsetting. We went to counseling and it helped. Is it over and are you sure it didn't get physical. Because I only found out during therapy that he slept with her too. Don't be naive. Demand answers make sure he or she is sorry for what they did and if you want to stay with that person you must forgive in order to move on. Good Luck

A COUNSELOR WILL GIVE YOU GUIDELINES AND DEFINITION BUT THE RECONCILIATION IS INSIDE THE BOTH OF YOU.
I WOULD LOVE TO COMMUNICATE MORE ON THIS WITH YOU; I WILL LOG BACK ON, PROBABLY THIS EVENING. I JUST GOT YOUR E-MAIL AND WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW I'M TUNED IN.
I HAVE COUNSELED INDIVIDUALS, BASICALLY, ALL OF MY LIFE.
MARRIAGE COUNSELING IS STILL GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF THINGS, WHICH IS WHAT ALL COUNSELING IS.
MY YEARS AS A GROUP SUPERVISOR/COUNSELOR GAVE ME A LOT OF INSIGHT INTO PEOPLE.
I'LL BE IN TOUCH.
