does the pharmacy career demand you to learn about new medicines constantly?

I was interviewing a 4th year pharmd student at our state university a couple years ago. I asked about job offers and he hauled out his briefcase. He had more than 100 letters from different companies offering him jobs. It was pretty impressive.
Pharm Ds can work in chain pharmacies, in independent retail pharmacies, in mail order pharmacies, in nursing homes, in hospitals as dispensing pharmacists or as clinical pharmacists, in research facilities, in sales or management at pharmaceutical companies, in public health positions, etc etc
It is getting harder and harder to get into Colleges of Pharmacy. To get authoritative information about pharmacy, check the website of the Association of American Colleges of Pharmacy. AACP. They have links to the websites of all the accredited US schools.

ps Yes, of course you have to continuously learn about the hundreds, or even thousands, of new medicines that come out yearly. Any job in the health sciences would be a poor choice for a person who didnt like the idea of continously learning new things!

My wife just got her PharmD but has not sat for her boards yet. Retail, Hospital, Research... You'll be a hot commodity and the work world will be your oyster. She had a 6 figure offer 3 months before graduation.

You can work at a hospital, or at a pharmacist, contact a college and find out your job options. I'm going for the same degree to work in a hospital.

you have alot of options. you can get your director credential which is a five week cores on line and you can be a preschool director and you can make 32,000 a year which is not bad. or you can start your own preschool which can make you ton of money.
