Sure. Everything returns to the mainstream eventually. Big band music made a brief comeback in the mid-90's. It will be back again eventually. Metal was huge in the 80's, went away, and then came back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Disco "died" in the very early 80's. Now electronic, instrumental disco is back...except now they call it "House". So, just give it time...
If you don't want to wait for it to become mainstream again, then you'll have to go to independent clubs, listen to public radio, buy CDs, etc. Nothing ever truely dies....it just goes underground.

I have to disagree with teenagers only care about what is new and cool. At least in the people I talk to it seems like more than ever they know old and obscure bands. With the internet it is now easier to find and download even the rarest of records. Bands that have been out of print for years can be found with a simple google search. It also seems like more than ever almost every type of niche in the rock community is being created by modern bands. They might not be popular, but chances are it is being made. Rock still seems to be pretty popular. The Black Keys are one of the hottest bands around and they are most definitely rock. All in all I would say rock and metal are doing alright.

For people who like to dance, it's never really gone away. Brian Setzer's Orchestra, the Gap commercials with the swing dancers, there will always be a market because there will never be anything like it again.

It already has....there are periodic appearances of swing bands and dancing being popular
