Then of course there is fairness. Liberals can not seem to talk for more than two minutes without the word fair popping up. Apparently Liberals really want everything to be fair. But their version of what is and is not fair seems to be a bit skewed to many people.
Certainly fairness in taxation amounts to soaking the taxpayer depending on how much they earn. Liberals oppose all tax codes, which would truly be fair. Flat taxes, where everyone pays the same rate? Liberals do not like those. Consumption taxes, where again everyone is taxed in a balanced fashion? Liberals dislike that system as well.
In fact, the only "fair" tax code to liberals appears to be one which punishes success, and takes way too much of Americans hard earned money and places it in the hands of government.

The only fairness that should be enforced is equal opportunity.
Fair taxation would be ideal...presuming anyone could design a system that would be "fair", but I suppose the truly correct word there would be "equitable". No, we shouldn't "punish" the top 1% (or top 10%, for that matter) for being truly successful, but if someone is earning $10,000,000 annually and they pay 50% in taxes they still made $5,000,000--I can't see what complaint they could possibly have.
The other things in life--your family, accidents that happen, etc--is life's way of making sure that we aren't all the same.

Yes top earners pay 53% plus. But take the money left over from the top 5% and the bottom 5%. How much better do that top 5% live? The top 5% live in exorbitant wealth, despite their taxation rate. Is that fair? That the number of poor is growing exponentially? That these people live like sheiks, while a growing number cant make ends meet?

And conservatives talk about morals when CEOs make 40 times what the average employee makes. I'm sorry, but if that CEO has to pay 50 times in taxes what I pay simply because they got their job not through hard work, not through merit, not through education, but through connections and lineage, than I'm OK with that really.
Fortunately, I'm sure that you are not only a hard worker, having lived an honest life and provided well for your family, and have never been given a handout in your life, but you also achieved the American Dream and are CEO with millions at your disposal, and you only come to Yahoo Answers for the fun of it because your employees are all decently paid with excellent health benefits and you have no other cares in the world. If that's the case, then sign me up!

Liberals have no intention or no desire to be fair. That is just empty chatter and part of the big lie. Liberals want "CONTROL" They know better than you do what is good for you, and they will push it down your throat regardless. Hilary is for confiscating profits to subsidies the inefficient competition, solving non-existent global warming, etc. I don't see the rest of the Dems spouting anything much different. If we take from the successful to give to the unsuccessful we just get more unsuccessful people. America became great because we allowed success.

in case you have faith the rhetoric that comes out of the democratic occasion then its conceivable, yet once you look at what the democrats have carried out for black human beings it truly is grossly fake. they have given them welfare, food stamps, and single motherhood. they have carried out greater injury to the black human beings than the pre civil conflict south did in enslaving them. the large distinction is that instead of being slaves to plantation proprietor, they're slaves to important government it is to the democratic occasion. The Tea occasion gives you them a sparkling commencing up the place they could voice those critiques between buddies. nevertheless human beings like Sharpton and Jackson attack the Tea occasion calling it racism. nicely its unlikely to artwork this time around and that i assume the only option left for Obama is amnesty.

Well, I pay 30% of my income toward taxes...the top 5% wealthiest pay 1% of their income toward taxes...now, how is that "fair"??? I don't drone about fairness like you do, you seem to be a little obsessed with the word you accuse liberals of loving, but I would like the playing field levelled a little. JMO I'm not about "punishing" success, but if that's how you chose to take it, then put it in your pipe and smoke it, along with whatever else you have in there.
EDIT-oh yeah, cons definition of fair= CORPORATE WELFARE

Big difference between a Liberal and a Conservative is that when Liberal see a rich people he/she will think "it is unfair! why he/she is so rich but I am so poor, it is just unfair!!"
but a Conservative see a rich person, he/she think that rich people is lucky and maybe I can be like him/her one day if I work hard.
I was once poor too but I was never jealous of rich people.
