OKay, so its a female. Its not a fantasy, it a love story i guess. Shes a korky 21 year old. Just like your average girl on the street. She has a sense of humour. She's a Rebecca. Only- i dont wanna use Rebecca (becky) because in my friends book thats her main character) But something like Rebecca- can be shortened. Just a regular name. )
Thanks a bundle

I wouldn't leave naming a major character up to an opinion poll if I were you. For some filler names, sure, but for a reoccurring character you need to take some time and think about a name.

I've always found sites that give you a name's meaning very helpful. Or baby name sites that can sort names into different origins.

What is special about the character? Are they from a particular place? Do they have a special gift? Let their name reflect that.

The name of your character is very important and it can't be determined by someone who has no idea who the person is. I think that the name has to resemble the person's characteristics, so without knowing anything about your main character, it's hard to give you a good name. Plus, why can't you think of the name yourself? If you can write a whole book, how hard can it be to come up with a good name?

A good thing to think about when you're naming characters is their personality. For instance, in the Harry Potter series, one character is named "Narcissa," a variation of "narcissistic," because she's really stuck up and vain. So, think about your character's traits, quirks, habits, and background. You might come up with something that's just right!

Some of my favorite girl names?
Holly, Rebecca (Becca), Victoria (Tori, Ria), Elizabeth (Libby, Beth, Lizzie, Eliza), Margaret (Maggie), Penelope (Penny--although I'm probably alone in liking this one!), Daisy, Katelyn (Kat, Kitty, Lyn, Katie--all kinds of variations of "Katherine")

Good luck!

It would help to know what the girl's character is like. The name should add to the story and character.
