It depends on the location. In Bangor, Maine, certainly not. In remote South Carolina, perhaps. If the inch of snow can be removed very quickly (such as if a ready supply of salt or plows are available) or most people's vehicles aren't bothered by the snow (snow chains, four-wheel drive), there would be no reason to cancel school. But if there were no way to remove the snow (such as if snow were very rare to the region, so no supplies were available), or the snow would prevent people from getting to school (the snow is icy, or most people attending the school travel to it on foot), then it might indeed result in a cancellation.

Many places in the south a one inch snow fall
will cancel schools.

depends. i would say if florida got a freak snowstorm everything would be cancelled. but in the far north, they dont cancel it for inches and inches of snow. just depends where you live.

yeah it depends where you live! like i know further up north they dont close, but if you live in maryland with the retards that cant drive you get out of school for stupid 1/2 of snow!

It never did where I come from (upstate NY on the Canadian border) but it did in other places I lived (Alabama, Georgia). So the correct answer is - It depends.

not typically...and in most northern areas they are so used to heavy snowfall they dont' cancel at all.
