the mother has a temporary restraining order with my child on it but she has now been sentenced to 30 days in jail how can i regain custody of my child?

Go to the Court that issued the order and/or the equivalent of Family Court in your State. Petition for Emergency Custody or have another relative do so if it is not allowed due to the restraining order.

if she is going ot jail, she can give the child to one of her parents. she still has legal rights to obtain a guardian for her child on a temp basis. what you could do is petition the court for an Ex-parte hearing (which could be heard tomorrow or the next business day). then if you are granted custody for the 30 days, request the hearing to be continued until the date she is let out of jail.
