Okay girls, heres the story, I am 35 weeks tomorrow. I have had pre-eclampsia since I was 21 weeks along and it has stayed mild. But because of it they have said since i was first diagnosed that I wouldnt go past 37 weeks. I have also since 21 weeks been going to the doctors every week. Well due to a high number in patients and not enough obgyns they have brought in a temporary obgyn, whom I seen this passed week. Now hes talking about letting me go full term, First off I am irrate that that this close to my supposed induction, I am gettin stuck with a new doctor that dont know my story. And secondly, one that wants me to go full term? Shouldnt they have gave a patient to him that wasnt high risk? Also, I was suppose to have my weekly appointment yesterday with my regular obgyn who was going to deliever, but they called tuesday and rescheduled it with the temporary doctor. And I was hopin yesterday to find out a date at which they would induce me. Do u think i have a right to be upset

i understand about lung maturity, but i have had 2 sets, so 4 shots of betamethasone... to help lung maturity, and they track her about every 2-3 weeks with ultrasounds just for the reason of delievering early, and shes doing just fine!!!

I hate these kind of doctor offices, who have several ob/gyns and you dont just have one doctor who see's you. I think you do have the right to complain, personally I am the kind of person who will complain when something is not right and believe me if they are wrong they will fix the problem. You need to go up to your doctor's office and ask to speak to someone about this problem if not there is a number you can call, this number should be posted in there office somewhere, just ask. This temp doctor is probably new, I mean like just got out of school, and doesnt know too much. So you need to get you a good doctor ASAP, you cant play around when you are a high risk patient, good luck.

They should never have given a special needs high risk pregnancy to a new doctor. While many doctors are great, NOT ALL will review your chart before seeing you. Call the office and demand to speak to your regular doctor. If you've had the shots for lung maturity, I would think they would be inducing you by 37 weeks. It may be under control now, but the last few weeks of pregnancy your blood pressure can skyrocket. This sounds a bit fishy of them, definitely make a call.

I think you have a right to be disappointed, but not angry. You should be grateful that they are trying to help you get to full term.
I'm sure the new doctor has reviewed your file, and knows your medical history as well as the other doctors in that office. If he feels that you can safely go to 40 weeks, then there is no reason to be induced early. I would clarify with him, however, that he doesn't feel that the baby is in harm, and that if that were to change, he would induce.
But I'm sure you are disappointed...I can imagine planning for the day of being induced, only to hear you have to wait 3 more weeks. It's like being told you're going to Disney World and then being taken to WalMart. :)

Yes. I would be upset this late in the game with a doctor that doesnt know you or your history making the call. I would ask for a second opinion from someone else in the practice. pre eclampsia is nothing to play around with.

You have a perfect right to be upset. Sounds like you're getting very bad service. I would talk to them & let them know how important it is to you to speak to the regular doctor or at least find out why they moved you to the temp doctor. I realize that doctors want to do things their own way but it's very wrong to start changing things on you when you are this far along.

37 weeks is considered full term though, so maybe he was just referring to that week. I hope so, I understand your frustration and would try to get a chance to talk to your regular OB and ask if things may have changed. I would definitely say something about your delivery, request your regular OB and be a little demanding (nicely though) if you have to. I feel it is important to be comfortable with the OB before you deliver.

Absolutely, i agree with you being upset. I woulda been like a nut case up in that office. I would DEMAND to see my regular OB/GYN and advise them of the "temporary" doctor's diagnosis... And see what they say. Tell the office staff that it is very important that you speak to the doctor right away. You fear for the health and safety of your pregnancy. Good luck... :)

As long as the pre-eclampsia doesn't get worse, there should be no problem going as long as you can. However, I would be upset if I was pushed off on another doctor that doesn't know my history.

The longer the baby stays in the healthier he/she will be.You need to find out more about this doctor. Maybe he is a specialist. Ask him what his credentials are. How many deliveries he has done. You might discover you are in more capable hands then you thought.
Congrats and Good Luck!!!!

Yes, I would call and take to the office manager or someone, and tell them what is going on and that you only want to be seen by the doctor that has seen you the whole time.
