Six Flags, which owns the park, was named for the six governments that ruled over Texas in it's early history. Therefore, originally the six flags were Spain, France, Mexico, The Republic of Texas, The Confederacy, and the USA. You can view the six flags at the link below.

The seventh flag is the state where the park is located.

originally they had the 6 flags (the 6 colors of SF) and the American flag as the 7th. later on the changed to all american flags for some reason....
