GOOD ON THEM was my first thought!
I think a lot of critism aimed at Ericsson has been unreasonable! Fair enough he didn't win anything with England but if you look at his record at club level...it's impressive - ONLY MANAGER TO WIN THE DOUBLE IN 3 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES - how many managers can say that?
The only manager England should have got was Marcelo Lippi! But then again...did he really do that bad for England? He got us to 3 major tournaments (finishing as group winners on every single ocassion)...brought the best out of Beckham...beat Germany 5-1 in thier own backyard and only lost 5 competitive matches! Maclaren dropped Beckham and look how dearly it has cost him! Ericsson wouldn't made that mistake!
I think Man City have done well getting him. And here's a prediction...if Beckham don't like it in L.A. he'll come back to England under Ericsson's leadership! He really got on well with Ericsson and the Swede brought the best out of him.
BUT...they shouldn't expect instant success! They should cement themselves in the top ten first for a good few seasons before they start challenging for Europe or the Prem.

The only thing I'll say is this:
When Sven coach the English national team, they played some of the most abysmally boring football every played...tactically, he was a nightmare, and the only reason they got through their group was sheer guts.
While I'm not a City fan, I have doubts that Sven, with less talent than the England side, will play football any more attractive than he did, meaning simply, get your pillows out, it's nappy time.

What's all the negativity about ts deal. Is someone somewhere getting the jitters. I'm not a City supporter but I think a manager of Eriksson's class is welcome to the Prem despite his England misadventure. It will help liven things up a bit and I wish City all the best. Now could we have more foreign managers please.

i think of the subsequent coach will probable be Aguirre, yet who Mexico desires to get rid of is each and every of the palms that are in contact interior the FMF. Aguirre or all and distinctive else can come and be the instructor, yet I dont see a quickly turnaround basically because of the fact they have yet another coach. The seleccion is the Oakland Raiders of soccer. you have some human beings residing interior the previous and as long as there are the comparable human beings making judgements, Mexico will stay in a hunch.

Considering his performance with the England team I'm surprised he got re-employed at all. Will we see Man City go down the pan now. How can anybody be worth that much money when they are a complete flop.

More money down the gurgler, though he does have a formidable record as a club manager.

Brave decision!
I do think its a good decision because despite his reputation as England manager, he does have a good record and also a good record as club manager. I think it will prove to be a good move.
