If you look on the motherboard there should be a jumper ( small plastic tab sitting on a couple of pins ) with the words " clr cmos " or "clear pass " printed next to it. The jumper will be sitting on pins 1+2. Remove the jumper and put it on pins 2+3. Turn on the computer and it will reset all the bios passwords, this will allow the system to boot. Go into the bios ( usually by holding down delete ) and set your own password or set it to none. Save your settings, turn off the computer and put the jumper back to pins 1+2 This should sort out your problem

Simple solution, but get ready to do some taking apart. You need to take part the laptop and get to the CMOS chip. It's a small lithium battery. Take it out, and wait a while then put it back. Put the laptop back together and that will flash the BIOS password. That is the only way if you dont know it. It's a pain if you dont know what you're doing, so i'd suggest to get someone with a little IT knowledge to help. Good luck

On many newer laptops you need to call the manufacturer directly and supply them with owner information. They will then be able to generate an admin password to unlock the bios.
Keep in mind that there are some tips and programs out on the internet that may work, but in most newer laptop cases, you will end up wasting a good few hours of your time with no success. My recommendation is to call the manufacturer.

If all else fails, try getting to the hard disk. Take it out and fit a temporary 2.5in drive to boot. The drive needs only DOS system on it, but make sure you also have a program called cmospwd (download from http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd) on it. Run the program which should allow you to reset the BIOS. Refit the orig disk, reboot from CD.

You will probably need to flash your BIOS firmware which can be dangerous because if something goes wrong you will need to get a new motherboard.

Bit of a long shot, but could be worth a shot.

If you know who made your BIOS, you could try one of their 'backdoor' passwords. There's a list of them here:
