If they don't like it and would rather talk about Kobe Bryant for 8 hours, that's fine. But what are the chances of them delivering some soccer news without the self righteous lecture?

I agree, they make me sick! So stupid and ignorant! Do they not realize some of us in the US actually love the game! They are so worried that it will become popular, I don't get why? I love basketball but I can also love soccer! Makes no sense, ESPN is just stupid, I don't know about the other sports but their analysis of basketball is HELLA STUPID as well...What DO they know???

You haven't heard Jim Rome trash soccer yet (he has an ESPN TV show, but his own independent radio show)? He makes ESPN look minor league when trashing soccer.

Just like a lot of Americans, they feel soccer is a foreign, un-American sport. So they like to trash it's easy to insult something un-American (unfortunately we do this a lot with the French for some reason).

You get more publicity when Argentina or Italy beats the American basketball team. Or when Japan wins the World Baseball Classic. Because that insults an American sport when a non-American team wins. We can't let that happen, can we?

It's complete bias... I think we should be happy when other countries pick up an American sport very well. It's like spreading American capitalism and democracy to another country.

There have been some hilarious answers so far. But just so you do get the truth, he went into radio straight out of college. He wasn't always the host, often working behind the scenes and all. But he's been in radio in some capacity since forever basically. Still, I would definitely recommend that guy who said "he stood on the side of the freeway and yelled at passing cars" for best answer. That was the funniest comment I've seen on Rush in a long time.

Unfortunately very slim.

There are a few who while they don't talk about the sport they don't trash it either.

If you want to hear some ESPN soccer talk go to their podcast section and download the soccernet weekly talk. It's from England but it's good.

Yes they do, they're Americans.
If you want to see soccer reporting by people who are actually interested in it, try Telemundo.
Almost all soccer, a little baseball, and no Kobe.

If you are relying on any of the idiot ESPN announcers for any insight into anything you're going to be disappointed. How can they all be so bad, I don't know...

I like these guys shows http://www.the2gs.com/ as far as good commentary on football from a US watching slant. They are both English but have lived Stateside for years.
