i have an echo on my computer but i looked in sound recorder, volume control and i have no microphone plugged in. any help with how to get rid of the echo. (i have just started using the speakers on my monitor instead of plug in speakers, but i still have the echo) HELP!

My compaq monitor had what looked like a hole in the front at the top - it turned out to be a microphone.

If so, the mike is sucking in the speaker noise, back out speaker then into mike again - that's called a feedback loop.

Check the sound settings. My wife's computer had the same problem. Somewhere in there is a setting which allows you to set the 'type' of experience to the type of sounds. She had hers set on Concert Hall, so it had an echo type effect. CHange it to a more normal setting and it fixed.
