I don't block anyone, but have my profile set to private so the Liberal report posse has to work harder to get my stuff deleted..

I don't block. I only had the occasion to report one answer as abusive. (A nasty picture when I opened a link on a question so innocent that a child would have selected it.) If the block feature had been established back then, I guess I would have blocked the person.

Disagreement in Yahoo Answers is what makes it so interesting. You see all kinds of takes on the same question.

One of my favorite answerers is William K and I hope people don't start blocking him. The other day he was answering some dimwit's question with, "Don't be an idiot, oh wait too late." I busted out laughing---the twerp deserved it.

One problem I do have is that it's hard to answer questions in my favorite category, Religion & Spirituality". There are really some hardcore satanists that visit the site and some of their answers are really disgusting. But I don't even block them.

We are becoming way too sensitive!

No I do not think it is okay to block people you disagree with. This is a public forum, if you only want to hear from people with your same world view go somewhere else.

I have blocked only one person, the stalker of blond women. If you are a blond woman and are being answered by the same dude over and over, he talks real nice and then starts to try to intimidate you, report him, he is a serial stalker, which is a crime, stalking women on the internet is a state and federal crime.

The guy you are talking about is a baby. I found he had blocked me, so I searched all of our contacts, I was never rude to him, never bit*h slapped him or anything, even was nice when I answered his insipid little questions. I have no respect for people like that.

I have also found I am blocked by a lot of people I have never even asked or answered. I think I might be on a commie hitlist, except they can't hit, they just hide.

Yes. That is a personal choice by a user, especially if you are being stalked, but if the reason for doing such is just to cut someone out for their opinions, because they are not favoring your opinion, is dead wrong, regardless of what party you are affiliated with, since the obvious meaning by doing it, is to shut the opposition UP. Hmmmmm, that just doesn't seem like Freedom of Speech, does it? It also doesn't seem like the American values granted to the American people through death and suffering by our forefather's, those we know of, and those we don't, like the poor farmers, the unnoticable patron of the local market, to trade their last pig on their farm, for 2 loaves of bread, and 3 cases of ammo to protect their home from the English invaders.

It also means that the person who is doing the blocking, DOESN"T believe in Americas ideals, or the freedom of speech for anyone else, but themselves. Cowards they are! Shake, and shiver little chicken, cry for your MOMMY!

God Bless those freedoms we barely still have, and God Bless those who will never stop defending them, no matter the cost! Freedom of speech shall reign forever!

When they send you obnoxious , filthy , responses to your answers` on your personal email. Sometimes a block is the only weapon one with common sense has against someone who cannot put a coherent sentence together without vulgar , personal attacks . Freedom of speech has is values , but not when its` abused !! Disagreeing is not the correct wording for blocking someone in this case .. Disassociation is !

I only block after the shmuck sends 3 or more harassing emails. After a short time (a few days) I'll lift the block.

I have blocked a couple because they were reporting every question and every answer. That is the main reason I use the feature.

The only person I've blocked is one who kept sending violation notices whenever I disagreed with her. I've been blocked by others, one because I don't accept e-mail (Frankly, I can do without having to swim through extra e-mails, but I can respect that decision), and others, apparently because they didn't like what I had to say. That, to me, defeats the purpose of YA. If you only want to hear from people you agree with, sit in your room and talk to yourself.

I have blocked 4 Cons but only AFTER they blocked me. I don't know why they did it and I could not care less. I think they are cowards.
I do welcome differing opinions.

However,

I will NEVER take their block away. I am merciless. Once blocked=forever blocked.

I don't think its ok. People disagree with me all the time, but I don't care and I certainly won't block them. I just don't like racist trolls.
