Isn't it great that we canjust shift blame around, have no accountability, and sink further as a country? ISn't that what we blame the politicians for? Mayeb WE THE PEOPLE could set an example for politicians, by doing something to improve our country...donate time or money to Habitat for Humanity, write letters to politicians and judges when we disagree with decisions, not vote along party lines, etc...so, are you willing to do your part? Or are you happy complaining about people doing the same exact things you do...?

I make sure my voice is heard. I am a staunch supporter of the issues which I believe in, and I do my best to help in their passage into law. I have never voted along party lines, nor do I plan to. I donate time and money to many different organizations, and believe me, most politicians who represent me know my email address by sight. While it is not hard to become involved, the fact is that many don't because they do not believe that their one voice can make any tangible difference.

I already am involved weekly in the issues important to me. But although I am active in trying to make a difference,I don't think it's unfair or unhealthy to vent about the people in higher power that bring me frustration.

No. But I also think that free speech is highly constructive.
I also think that some have different jobs. Like a body. Which job is more important? Your mouth? Your hands?
I like the idea of using all of me for the good or at least my idea of the good.

Ah but if you blame the truly blameworthy and you make your case, you instruct the populace as to how to avoid the problem next time.
For example, Milton Friedman blamed John Maynard Keynes and policymakers who followed him for the economic malaise of the 1970s, which was the end-product of the policies from the 1930s through the 1960s and which would have only continued had we not reversed course in 1981. He made his case. We listened to him. We did reverse course, and now things are much better.

I probably sign about 3 petitions a day on the causes I support and these are sent to Congress. I am presently brainstorming on how to get the word out on Universal Health care.
I don't like to give money to PACs or candidates- when asked I tell them I can't afford it, but I can volunteer.
I do give money to public radio, cancer and AIDs, Vet's and global warming/

Sure we could have an Earth Concert. We could fly or drive to it. It would be in a huge coal powered stadium. We'll eat hamburgers and hot dogs and then leave a huge mess to have to be cleaned up. It will be great. I can't wait to see the new Compact fluorescent stage and stadium lighting. I'm really looking forward to the propaganda in between acts, and when the father of a drugie makes his presidential announcement, we will all be so excited.

I've signed many petitions to have bush impeached and written letters protesting his visit to my city. BUSH is a roadblock to progress and must be removed before anything can be achieved.
