It's due,but your time line is a bit off. There is an asteroid headed towards the Earth,(Impact is due[around] 12 yrs).Scientists say not to worry.
Why no worry,U ask?
Because there is NOT (dang)a thing we can do to prevent it.So long Suckers!!!!( ; } )
But I heard that the polar reversal isn't due for 75 yrs..or so....&then alll Electonics won't work because of the Magntic reversal!!!! True fact of life...

You didn't back up your statement with evidence and how can one say that all knowledge and resources will be completely destroyed by that time. In fact, just as we are expose to a scarcity of resources we are also expose to the discovery of new ideas, resources and technology through continuing knowledge, conservation practices, and new methods. There is always the possibility for any future environmental change - nature takes its own course.

Apparently you watched the history channel last night...Among other reasons, do you honestly think that we could predict an exact day for our demise, when we can't even entirely predict the weather???? It won't happen. Trust me. Plus there are like 70 theories about what could happen. One is that our universe will combine with another to form a new universe. Another is that aliens will come down and introduce us to the wonders of the "fourth dimension". Yet another is the one mentioned above, that the planetary and star allignment with the black hole in the middle of the universe will switch our poles and cause the seas to overflow, and kill all life...blah blah blah. It's not happening.

In the words of American Eagle...Live your Life.

It's believable. Not only is there "global warming" on this planet and some others as well as moons. The frequency of this planet is also changing. It's not hard to believe at all when you think about it. The Mayans were very advanced in their knowledge of outer space. So far I think all of their lunar eclipses predictions have been correct

well the mayans didn't actually predict the end of the world per se' it was actually the return of an ancient mayan god and the begining of a new world. It wasn't supposed to be armageddon. However the thing they actually predicted is real... every 26,000 years the planets align with the center of the galaxy. (they beleived that something so rare would herald the return of their favored god)

pole reversals are real, and have happened before , and are in fact due to happen quite soon again, but there are no solid evidence that shows that there was a big negative effect on the creatures that lived through it in the past.

The earth's poles have shifted many times throughout history and last time I checked, life was still flourishing on the planet ...

Of course and then we will find that there are little green men on the Moon that we never noticed before.

I agree that we are at the mercy of the planet but don't know for sure that this has happened before in its history.

nope, a lot of people will survive. it's the asteroid that everyone is afraid of that will happen around 2012. I mean, while we're worrying why don't we worry about everything at once to save ourselves some time.
