My girlfriend is traveling from JFK to montauk in a few days and was wondering if she could avoid Jamaica station as she heard it was kinda dodgy!
Ay other methods of transport for her other than the long island rail road??
Thanks

She's kinda stuck with Jamaica station. The other options include taking a cab into Manhattan (Penn Station) and trying to connect to a Montauk train there, or Hampton Jitney bus but that is quite an expensive option. Hampton Jitney also has service from queens (see the link below) Jamaica Station isn't as bad as it sounds if she's taking the AirTrain from JFK. Just DO NOT leave the station, that's where it gets dodgy. What time does the flight arrive? How long will she have to wait for a train? If she's there during the day, she'll have no problem. There are usually police around anyway.

Hope that helped.
Good luck!
