How do you deal with dead beat friends?

If any of my friends are a nosho they allways have a good reason, like they couldn't get a ride. And they explain to me why and they are apologetic. And I forgive them.
If you have friends that act like that then they obviously aren't your true friends.
True friends are the ones who make you happy.
Just stop inviting them.
It's as simple as that.
Think about it.

I'd get some new friends because, in reality, dead beat friends aren't true friends at all.

I have one friend who, even since our school times, never showed. yet she truly is my friend. she has other qualities. She can always make me laugh for one thing. I can never count on her with appointments or stuff, but when I need to laugh... she is there.
