What are some romantic places in upstate New York?

I'm looking for a good place within a few hours of Syracuse or Utica. Anything would be helpful.

Adirondack Mts. Drive, or climb to the top of Whiteface Mt. and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Skaneateles is a charming town, right on the north edge of one of the Finger Lakes. The Clintons spent a few days there when Bill was in the White House. It's perfect for what you want.

Cooperstown is charming as well. Granted, it helps to like baseball, but it's not completely necessary. It is a great place for a walk, particularly by the lake.

The Thousand Islands aren't far from Syracuse, and they would work well.
