It is wise to talk to your doc. about your desire to induce labor. Doctors can induce you with different meds. My personal experience is that drug induced labor can be longer, harder, and more painful than naturally having a baby. There are some natural ways to encourage labor and your body will go into labor using these methods if it is ready. Stimulating the nipples produces a natural hormone that can trigger labor. Also having sex can do a lot, the sperm contains a hormone that prepares the cervix.
Sex as means of getting labor started is thought to work in three ways: firstly the movement may help to stimulate the uterus into action; secondly, sex can trigger the release of oxytocin, the 'contraction' hormone; thirdly, semen contains a high concentration of prostaglandins which help to ripen, or soften, the neck of the womb (cervix) ready for it to dilate when labour starts. The only proven safe methods are walking and washing the floor on your hands and knees. Some people swear by spicy foods if you are willing to deal with the heartburn. I like the idea of up and down stairs because that aerobic activity is actually good for you too, but hold onto the handrail so you don't fall.
While caster oil has been shown to work, it has some risks. In addition, some women have said that it's really not a good thing to have diarrhea while you are in labor. I would only use that if you would otherwise be scheduled for a c-section.
None of these things will work if your body isn't ready for delivery anyway. You need stronger meds for that and only your doc will do that.

Why are you trying to induce yourself early? That baby may not be ready to come out yet. Just wait until your due unless your doctor tells you differently. It's only 2 weeks.

dont try and induce labour yourself- it could harm the baby. the dr / midwife can induce you if they feel its nessasary. they have many things that can induce you that are quite affective.
otherwise, wait until the baby is ready to come out

40 weeks. That's how long its supposed to take. Your baby needs this time to put on weight and develop as much as possible before it must breathe and eat on its own. Why would you want to risk your baby's health?

Go on a long bumpy car ride and a couple of days later go on a stock up shopping trip. That is what cause me to deliver 10 days early.

Let nature take its course. Your body knows when it's ready to deliver, and that baby knows when it's ready to come into the world. Don't rush it.
