I'm with the others. I've never seen a yellow septic tank, for a home anyway. It could be a plastic talk or could have a waterproof coating on the tank itself.
Waste is removed through "field lines" and not through the tank itself. The tank is simply used as a holding tank for waste.
All the septic tanks I have seen in 27 years of construction work were made of concrete or were smaller black plastic tanks.

Mine is concrete and is "concrete gray". I have not seen a yellow one and assume it is plastic. May be the type plastic that is stronger such as all the plastic auto bumpers are yellow if you remove the paint.
