J.K. Rowling has said that she had to kill off Sirius and Dumbledore so Harry could go on and defeat Voldemort himself with the help of Ron and Hermione, of course. I really don't think Dumbledore will come back unless it's as a ghost or he might come back in a dream Harry has. There's really no telling. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

Dumbledore has a Horcrux. This is why Rowling has said the character is causing her so much trouble, even though he's "dead."
Remember, that the "Unforgivable Curses" were authorized for use against Death eaters, and ONLY Mad Eye Moody is mentioned as having never used them.
Dumbledore also said that you don't have to be a dark wizard to occasionally use the dark arts.
Remember how at the end of "Goblet of Fire" Dumbledore had a "Look of triumph" on his face when he learned Voldemort had restored his body? This was because Dumbledore learned in that moment that he too, would be able to create a new body once he died.

You mean like Mad eye moody was impersonated? yes thats a good possibility, its historical fact that great men/leaders/tyrants etc. in danger of assasination have doubles, some times more then one.JK did say Dumbledore is dead...but Voldemort was supposed to have died.too.......so who knows maybe he will return as did all those who voldemort killed, (although momentarily) to help him, when Harry did battle with V. in the Goblet of fire. Or possibly in some other form as did V, in the Philosophers stone and later in snake form????
I think we will hear about D, in the new book, sure of it!!

No, it was the real Dumbledore. But do remember that his portrait hangs in what is now McGonagall's office. And remember that the former headmasters and headmistresses can not only communicate through these portraits, but move from them into any other existing portrait of themselves. Then remember that Dumbledore's portrait is everywhere on the chocolate frog cards. Probably every member of the student body has at least one.

This is a good question - it certainly makes you think. However I do think Dumbledore is dead. On the otherhand I think Sirius is coming back - it only said in the book that he fell behind the veil and not that he actually died!

yes i think that dumbledore really is dead but maybe it was all like a plan or something of snape's and dumbledore's for snape to kill dumbledore. i have no inferences as to what the plan is, but maybe snape is still a good guy. but maybe he isnt because when he killed dumbledore, he had that like look of hatred on his face. i guess we'll find out in the seventh book!

Excellent points you bring up. Yes, I know JK said he really is gone, but I have my own whack theory:
Whack Theory: Dumbledor will be back *kinda like in Lord of the Rings when Gandalf the Grey "died" and came back as Gandalf the White..something along those lines.
I also think it was predetermined to happen this way. What I mean is this: When Dumbledor said "Please" to Professor Snape just before he killed him, I think he was saying "Please...kill me" as opposed to "Please don't kill me."
Yeah, I know the conversation Snape has in the beginning of Half Blood Prince flies into the face of that theory, but I still think Snape isn't a totally heartless bastard
