There is no advantage of organic milk over regular BGH Free milk. Organic milk suffers the same recalls and much of organic milk is not as organic as you'd like to think. I would select BGH free milk for both a pregnant woman and a child under 5. It is right next to the regular milk in most big grocery stores.

Soy use during pregnancy has been associated with an increased rate of hypospadia in baby boys due to the hormones contained in soy (hypospadia means the urethra ends somewhere else in the penis rather than the end). This can intefere with later fertility. In fact, a study that was on yahoo news only a couple of weeks ago recommends not giving infant boys soy formula for the same reason. The hormones interfere with their male hormones. The fact that someone on yahoo!answers didn't have that problem doesn't negate the fact that over a larger population, a problem is showing up.

We put both of our boys on Soymilk. They did just fine. Less gas, easy to digest, though it is more expensive. I work at a grocery store and found out about growth hormones in the milk not too long ago. THat weirded me out. It's a hormone that is injected into the cow and expressed in the milk. That made me glad I put the boys on soymilk. The only reg. milk I have found that doesn't have the hormone is milk from Heartland Dairy. (Yup, I'm in the midwest). But see if your grocery store could order it for you. Hope this helps.

i reccomend organic milk and products highly!! over 85% of babies born in the us test positive for pestacides found in our everyday food. That statistic alone was enough to make me switch to organics. Organic does not mean nutrient compramised but just simply means no growth hormones or pestacides. that simple
