Ok, I know there are a lot of scam artists out there, but there was two that contacted me on data entry work @ home. A small fee is required like $5.00. Now, when I really looked into it, it was that you post ads (typist, etc) anywhere you want, the people pay you a small fee, then you send them training materials which is basically telling you to do the same exact thing and it is just like a merry go round. They say it is legal under a section of the postal code something like 17.
You are not actually doing any type of work, just repeating the process over and over again.
Anyone know if this is really legal? I wouldn't know the first place to look for postal codes or the legal end of it.

This isn't legal, it's a pyramid scheme.
You're paying someone above you, they send you something stupid and tell you to do the same thing they did. You do it, 10 people send you $5, you send them the material. Wow you've just made $5 into $50, that's $45 profit.
Problem is that each of those 10 people then has to keep it going, and get their $5. Eventually it gets watered down, and people lose their money.
You usually see this happening with people investing thousands of dollars, there was a huge one a while back that collapsed, leaving hundreds of people in debt. So the people early on made millions of dollars, at the cost of all those other people down the road, very sad.
Report them to authorities. If a job requires no work, it's a scam.
Oh and I'm not sure, but I'm not sure that postal codes are laws. In Canada postal codes are the equivalent to zip codes.
And just because I say something is legal, doesn't mean I'm not lying. I can say murder is legal under building code 7, but it's still not, and people usually won't look it up to find out.
If there is a postal code, is that a country-wide law? Can you read it online? Can you verify it?
This reeks of a scam, call the cops on them, you may be lucky, but they could be ripping off a lot of other people to make their money.

It may technically be legal, but clearly its marginal at best. I mean they make their money by getting the $5 from you, and for that they probably send you 25 cents worth of xeroxes ($4.75 profit or whatever). Then you do the same to other people.
First off, why not just type up something youself to send out to others and save the $5 you would have to send them. Still, the major problem is I suspect you will have to put in a fair amount of time just to find someone else willing to send you the $5 (you may end up making $5 per hour or less). When all is said and done I suspect you will find you make more money just by getting a job.

Report them to the local police and the FBI in your state. Print out all copies of correspondence to take with you to the police station. Nigerian Scammers will at times use people with in the USa to attempt to intimidate prospective victums, with phone calls and harassment. Gather all the Information you have and hand it to police. Hold off on blocking or sending any redflags to the scammers and just follow local, police instructions. If they are unwilling to help go to the local FBI office. The minute they sent you a fake check, across state or international lines it became a Federal crime.

That's a pyramid scheme and as such even illegal. ~
The fact that they make a point of it being legal, already shows thay know it's not. Otherwise why mention it at all.

The data entry job is basically you are paying to put ads online. Sooo..money is coming out of your pocket. Of course they do not tell you that. I tried it.
There are legit ways to make money online. They are free and you are never required to pay any money. You can email me at shaunjamie2005@yahoo.com with any questions you have and I will post the link to my blog down below. All of the sites on my blog I have tried and trust.
