I just got a new aquarium, and I want to buy some new fish. I don't want to get some boring fish, and am still kinda new at it, so I was wondering if you guys knew of any pretty fish (that don't cost 50$!!!) that I could put in my tank? I really don't want to stick to the boring tetras, and there's no way I'm getting gold fish!!! Any ideas?

Look into Rainbows. There are many different kinds that come in all different colors. They are a community fish also so you can mix with other tetras and freshwater fish. They get good sized (4 inches or so in my 29 gallon) and I've had a pair for over 5 years now that are doing excellent. I used to do cichlids but I got tired of having to deal with the aggressiveness and problems associated with it. Check out the Rainbows next time your at the pet store. They are an excellent tank fish. (and they're relatively cheap too!!) Good luck!

Depends if you want an aggressive or passive tank. I have a aggressive tank with fish from the Cichlid family. You still would be getting gold fish but to feed these guys. If you want a passive tank I would suggest getting some Painted glass fish, Angel Fish, or other fish along that line... Hope this helps
