I need some flat, thin paintable wood or MDF circles (hoop shape) for a decorating project. I found some small (5") MDF circles at a hobby shop but they were thicker than I wanted and expensive, also I'd like to find some more like 10" diameter. Seems like these should be available somewhere?

Any lumber yard will cut them for you for a small milling fee. Even the 2 big hardware giants will do it, and then you'll have exactly what you need. Good luck with your project,

A Sub woofer box is a scientific cabinate. If you build it. Follow a design that has been carefully engineered. Sometimes your sub comes with blueprints for the perfect enclosure. This is how you will get insane bass. (Some box designs will yield more punchy bass, others may be more droney. About your materials Make it out of 1 " thick material. Also You will find the most dense material available is HDF (High density fiber Board. Solid wood is too unstable for exterior speaker boxes. It will likely develop leaks, due to expansion and contraction, warping, twisting, cupping etc. M and HDF on the other hand turns into saw dust if it gets wet. So Shelac your box before you wrap it in trunk mat wood veneer or paint it. HDF People!! Hello any one? How could medium density fiber(MDF) board be denser than High density fiber board(HDF), sheesh. If the problen is joinery try pre drilling and countrsinking before screwing to clamp down your aplication of bullet proof bulldog adhesive. ok! Note you can get away with 3/4 inch high density fiber board. Instead of the 1 " MDF needed to get it better than right. Are we looking for Bass here?
