What is your favourite nursery rhyme and why?

Hi, Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon, the little dog laughed to see such fun, and the dish ran away with the spoon. could you imagine what a child must think when this nursery rhyme is said their imagination with a cow jumping over the moon, and a dish running away with a spoon. and a dog laughing , i used to love this rhyme because of it's humour.

Taken at face value, it has little meaning, but it has an interesting history, and is 'deeper' than other nursery rhymes. Plus, the last line is used as the title of two good Frasier episodes.

ring a ring o roses, used to love that as a lil girl in the primary school playground standing in a circle and dancing round. plus it has history behind it of course ( plague)
