Hey, I am 14 and I got my first period in April.
I am on day 8 or 9 (the first day started at night, so does that count as a day?) of my period and for the past 2 days of it, I only bleed right when I wake up when I am going to the bathroom and when I wipe. This ends at about 11:00AM. SO I was wondering, should I wear a tampon when I go swimming?

Hey look,
Yes if your period starts at night this days counts as your first day.
as for about you going to swimming it is medically adviced not to go swimming while you are having your period it is not good for your reproductive organs and increases the possibility of infections as well as it is not good for other people in the pool or the sea with you.
:-)

This means your period is about to be over. You can probably get away without a tampon going swimming at this point but if I were you, just to be on the safe side, I'd still put a tampon in.

Well, when I first started my cycle (about 3years ago) it lasted 7days on point. Now that I've had it for awhile, it only lasts for 3days. An normal cycle will last 3-7days, not 5-6. And no it doesn't really count about the nighttime situation. (lols, I know it can be a pain in the butt right, but I wanted to know the same question about a year ago) You SHOULD wear a tampon just to be safe sweetie....
Hope I helped! =D
(Also, there's nothing to really be mortified about if you do go swimming, once you submerge in water, you cycle shuts off, BUT you do need to worry about infection, so DO wear one, BUT don't let it stay in there long)

I would suggest you use a tampon while swimming. Everyone menstruates though out the day and doing something strenuous such as swimming can cause bleeding.

Use a tampon when you go swimming. It is unsanitary to go swimming without one, if you have your period.

If your know your not done with your period for the month, I would. You wouldn't want an accident to happen. Better safe than sorry.
