I really have to shake my head in disbelief that people have the idea that humanity "started" with Adam & Eve. It is just too silly a notion to take seriously. It is a bit like those who would have you believe that the earth is only 6000 years old or there abouts. Ah well there are approx 6 billion humans on the planet so there are going to be all kinds of Cukoo ideas around. I suggest you look a little further than the Bible or Q'ran to help you understand the world about you.

I personally don't believe we started out just with 2 people, with both of those people having all the genetics around today. That is highly improbable.
However last week I was watching a show on the discovery channel about human evolution and I believe it does a very good job showing how things worked out.
They described it as a tree, with people moving to different climates and areas, we branched out. Our genes and bodies adapting to our specific climate so we could survive. And eventually there became so many branches off the orginals that we were able to intermingle without any problems.

It didn't. Even if you read and accept Genesis on its face, it talks about Cain going out to another place and finding a wife that wasn't a child of Adam and Eve. Then, yadda yadda yadda, Tower of Babel as was posted already.... Poof! Civilization!

Assuming you wish to begin with that premise, one has to look at the specific belief cycle you wish to use.
If you are using the standard Judeo-Christian model, one has only to look back as far as the Tower of Babel, when man tried to reach the Heavens, and was struck down for his act, made different from the men around him.

I will happily discuss any other belief system and share their reasons for the differences.
