well there is .
Go to Start then click --run and type "msconfig" in it. Then on the new window click on the "startup" tab. Uncheck anything you don't want to start up and click apply your settings .
or some simple ways
First click on start and go to all programs, then on the pop up menu click on startup. Deletes all files in the startup.
Then those programs won't pop up.
Some programs may not be blocked by just doing that, so open the program and click on preferences or may be options.
There must be some check boxes to disable auto run on windows startup.
And one of the best way to disable the autorun of programs on windows startup is , install tune up utilities or any other utilities softwares. From there you can remove any startups, even the systems. they are very helpful to make your computer faster too.
hope you got help.
bye c ya

In the Start menu, there's a folder labelled "Startup" (it might be listed under "Accessories") that lists all of the programs that start with Windows. Just delete any of the shortcuts listed in this folder that you don't want to run at startup. (put the cursor on the item, click the right mouse button, select "Delete".)

In Windows XP go to Start - Run, type msconfig to open the System Configuration Utility, go to the Startup tab and uncheck the programs that you don't want to start when Windows starts. Restart the computer.
In Windows Vista go to Start - Search and type msconfig, then the rest is identical.

Kira,
Any programs that you have used lately will continue to come on if you don't exit from them when your done. Simply click on the red " X " after you are finished with a program or click quit after clicking on the title of your program at the top of the page.

I use the program "Chameleon Startup Manager" for it.
You can find it here:
http://www.neosoft-tools.com/windows-startup-manager.htm
It disables any startup programs and fully controls startup by selecting the programs to be launched, while customizing the startup settings (ie how often and when programs should be launched, etc).

best way is to download crapcleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com (its free)
use it to clean your registry, delete temporary files, clear browsing history/cookies, and safely remove programs (either from your startup list or completely from your pc)
