A diaper service costs roughly the same as disposable diapers. Unless you are doing your OWN cloth diapers, it won't save you money. However, some babies are intolerant of the chemicals in disposables and some parents prefer to use renewable resources. Also, many toddlers find disposables very uncomfortable when it's hot or if they are in car seats for a long time. Cloth is much cooler. Up to you. I made cloth diapers for both of my cousins using cut up flannel sheets and towels, but you can get premade cloth diapers online from Work At Home Moms with new materials. Saved them a bundle and they just used the disposables for newborn and then when traveling to visit relatives.

A diaper service was wonderful especially for newborns in the old days. Here is what you want to do now and why. Modern disposable diapers not only absorb, they keep it away from the surface some. You can see how this is better for the baby. The attachments are safer also. You can learn to roll it into a tight package that doesn't leak and doesn't take up much room using the attachments that fit it to the baby. Get a waste can where you can put the used diaper in and flip it ready for the next one. This seals out odors and makes disposal easy and is cheap.
