Waht is the name of a bushy weed that the stem looks like barbed wire and has little yellow buds on the end?

Nothing seems to eat this in the pasture and it seems very wirey.

It sounds like some species of Briar weed, but without a pic it's hard to say for sure.

That's why we call it dead here, my horse wouldn't even eat it. I didn't want to know it's name or I couldn't kill it.
