If the USA is hit with more terrorist attacks, the Dems win and Repubs lose.
If the poor get poorer, the Dems win; if the poor get richer, the GOP wins.
If the USA wins in Iraq, the Republicans win, if we lose, the Dems win.
If the tide of illegal aliens is turned back, the GOP wins. If amnesty happens, the Democrats win.
If government regulation and spiraling lawsuit spending continue forcing health care costs upward, Democrats win. If medical costs come down, Republicans win.
If childrens' test scores improve, Republicans win; if they decline, Dems win.
So, again, why would any reasonable thinker vote Democrat?
(Feel free to provide additional examples)

*sigh* So many opinions, so few facts (offered up by the respondents).
Fact, the day after the November elections, CNN Headline News reported that the leader of al Qaeda in Iaraq as well as the "president" of Iran both commended the people of the U.S. for having voted in the Democrats. Can't help but wonder why either of them would say that. What then, does that mean and where might it lead?
Fact, during the Clinton years (the feel good administration), lots of people were suddenly made poorer: Enron, World Com, White Water investors and employees.
Fact, during the Carter years, Welfare fraud ran rampant. Inflation ran unchecked and the auto industry layed off thousands upon thousands. Bankruptcy was at an all time high. Very few to almost no one got any wealthier.
Fact, Lincoln was a Republican and was extremely hated -- enough to get him killed by a sore losing Democrat. The Democrats (who all hated him so) couldn't have cared less about saving the union OR about freeing the slaves.
One cannot help but wonder then, why so many minorities would choose to vote for the party that wanted them to remain enslaved. Could it be because of all of the "free" government handouts (socialist programs)? How many success stories have we heard come out of those programs? *success being measured in one's ability to get off the program and become self-supportive* You can thank the democrats.
Should the democrats raise minimum wage, how quickly will it be made useless by the increase in goods and services? Note, the money for the wage increase has to come from somewhere. Out a monkey's butt perhaps?
While I would NEVER recommend that anyone vote straight party line on anything, I think historically, by and large, the democrats have proven themselves to be very selectively forgetful and myopic.

This is the unfortunate product of black and white, "win" and "lose" thinking. How stupid and simplistic to say the democrats win when we get hit with a terrorist attack. What about those that hold that the white house has exaggerated the threat? I suppose under those circumstances the republicans win is we're attacked again. Nobody wins, and to post this tripe is idiotic.

By the way, did you notice based on the cloture votes, Lott and McCain, according to your theory voted for the democrats to "win" and Byrd and Bayh voted for the republicans to "win".

Why don't you start looking at questions with a little more mature approach?

Wow, you are brainwashed. Stop listening to Rush/Savage/Fox for an hour and pick up a book.

Let's see... The poor do get poorer.

How do you define "win" in Iraq? A stable govt, democracy? It hasn't happened in 5,000 years, but somehow Bush is the savior? Neither of those will ever happen.

What did the cons do with 4 years in control of the senate, house, and presidency to curb the influx of illegal aliens. They had their chance.

Medical costs come down? right...

The cons spend more on education than the dems? Not everything Rush tells you is fact.

Each scenario is begun with "If".

None of these have happened. Under a Republican presidency, the US has not "won" in Iraq (it's impossible to win because we've already lost and need to get out), 9/11 occured, more illegals have come into this country, etc.

It's like saying "IF Bush is a horrible president, it's the Republican's fault for voting him in."

Except that's actually happened..

You vote Democrat because if the worst scenarios happened, they were likely caused by the Republicans.

The reason is because if those negative things happen, it will be because of Republicans NOT Democrats.

Listening to the Libs here argue about the word "if" reminds me of the time Bill Clinton tried to change the definition of the word is.

As "if" you could say when in your scenario

You said it yourself, "IF the following is true." I would love to hear the logic behind any of your scenarios, but I doubt such a thing exists.

A reasonable voter would vote for the candidate they feel is best for the position, regardless of their political affiliation.

Why would any supposedly reasonable thinker post stereotypical nonsense such as this? Go back to your drawing board.

Present me with a proven fact to back your theory.
I don't deal in "what ifs."
