It is not likely because your cycle is the shedding of your uterus. Your uterus prepares for egg implantation and when the egg is not fetilized than the wall of the uterus starts coming off and that gives you your cycle.
THIS IS FOR THOSE WHO SAY YOU CAN GET PREGNANT ANY TIME AND THOSE WHO THINK THAT YOUR PERIOD IS THE OVUM OR SPERM COMING OUT OF YOU:
Name of phase Days
menstrual phase 1–4
follicular phase (also known as proliferative phase) 5–13
ovulation (not a phase, but an event dividing phases) 14
luteal phase (also known as secretory phase) 15–26
ischemic phase (some sources group this with secretory phase) 27–28
During the follicular phase the lining of the uterus thickens, stimulated by gradually increasing amounts of estrogen. Follicles in the ovary begin developing under the influence of a complex interplay of hormones, and after several days one or occasionally two follicles become dominant (non-dominant follicles atrophy and die). The dominant follicle releases an ovum or egg in an event called ovulation. (An egg that is fertilized by a spermatozoon will become a zygote, taking one to two weeks to travel down the fallopian tubes to the uterus. If the egg is not fertilized within about a day of ovulation, it will die and be absorbed by the woman's body.) After ovulation the remains of the dominant follicle in the ovary become a corpus luteum; this body has a primary function of producing large amounts of progesterone. Under the influence of progesterone, the endometrium (uterine lining) changes to prepare for potential implantation of an embryo to establish a pregnancy. If implantation does not occur within approximately two weeks, the corpus luteum will die, causing sharp drops in levels of both progesterone and estrogen. These hormone drops cause the uterus to shed its lining in a process termed menstruation.

My first daughter was conceived on day 2 of my monthly.
Sperm live for up to two weeks inside the body - meaning they can still be there when your period ends and your body begins the process of ovulation.
You are never 100% protected from getting pregnant. All birth control can fail - hence why you shouldn't have intercourse unless you are prepared for that slim chance that you could get pregnant. A woman my sister works with had a baby 3 months ago - after getting her tubes tied years ago.

Looks like a mixed-bag reaction to your question with some really good answers!
I've read it IS possible to get pregnant whilst on your monthly, as some women do actually release 2 eggs over their period. One of which of course comes out with the menstrual bleed, the other of course will be there ready for fertilising.
However, the chances of this happening are significantly lower than having sex at any other time during the monthly cycle.

Anything is possible and stranger things have happened. However, this is a big "highly unlikely." When you menstruate, your body is expelling the utural lining that would have stayed in place IF you were to conceive during ovulation. Lastly, you menstruate, after ovulation . . . so there would technically be no egg to fertilize.

No disrepect to ANYONE, but it seems this question is in this forum at least twice a week. I can WITHOUT A DOUBT say this:
Anytime you have sex, you have a chance of becoming pregnant. It is that simple. Unless you have had a hysterectomy, having sex equals possible pregnancy.

Yes it's possible to get pregnant at any time of your cycle as sperm can live for days and not just hours.

I've heard that statistically, conception is possible every day of the month, including when you have your monthly.
