I thought Dems said they were going to make us leave Iraq. Did they lie to us?

Looks like the Dems lied to get votes again. But they will just say they didn't promise that,and pose the excuses why they didn't get us out of Iraq,and the media will by and large just report it as if it were true.

All politicians change their tone when they actually SEE the facts of the situation.
It's easy (and cheap, and contemptible) to act seditiously.
It's easy, etc. to call our representatives names, spread unfounded rumors, and to treat them as "guilty until proved innocent".
But once a representative gets into office, gains more power, and suddenly realizes that the "checker game" they were so keen on kibbutzing is really a "chess game" and they had no clue how complex the issue was,...
...they break with the mindless rush of their party, the public, the press.
And we call them flip-floppers for it.
We prefer mindless puppets who do whatever we want regardless of the facts and never change their mind based on the evidence in front of them, particularly if it is a national security secret that we can't have served up to us publicly.
Amazing what voters want.
Now it's Pelosi who is letting our troops die, not Bush?
I always thought it was the Islamic fundamentalists.
Gee, how stupid of me. I believed Islam when for two centuries they've called for our destruction.

As a Democrat, I couldn't agree with you more. Congress had better start doing what they were voted in to do. They need to grow a spine and cut off the war funding. The only way Bush will leave is if he is forced to do so. Get us out of Iraq, make this administration be held accountable for all its underhanded dealings, and start concentrating on what our country needs for awhile. I am sick to death of excuses and would very very much like to see some determined action on their part.

When are you liberals going to get your head out of your @ss and realize that our Congressmen are liars, cheats, and crooks! That goes for the Republicans too! This country needs reform at all levels of government and we should start at the top!

They most definitely lied. Furthermore, I guarantee that if we get a Democrat president we will still keep our presence in Iraq.
