Japanese editions don't often have English subtitles, but they're region-2 encoded and won't play in a region-1 DVD player anyway.

Of Ranma 1/2 (etc.), however, there are often cheap Chinese bootleg versions, which do have English subtitles -- and aren't region-encoded. Some of them even have the English soundtrack as well.

Blood+ episodes 26-50, English subtitles:

individually, having watched hundreds of jap movies, English dubs tend to ruin them or purely cause them to look stupid, so i choose to recommend Subtitles for confident. As for which ones are superb, Ju On and Ringu are superb by far, (the unique variations of The Grudge and the ring). Audition is likewise a spectacular action picture, although this is greater unusual than frightening... I recommend looking up the unique variations of yankee-remakes and pass from there, as a results of fact often the unique is very scarier than this is American counterpart. wish this helps =)
