show that you can wear clothes from there stylishly and appropriately.
speak clearly, smile and just be pleasant.
find out where the clothes are made, who runs the company, how many staff they have, when are their seasonal stock changes..

when I was hiring people I looked first at personal appearance including dress, tattoos and piercings. please dress modestly. if you have tattoos or piercings hide the tattoos and don't wear piercings. these are at least in my opinion a definite " no - no. " if you have these be certain to ask what the company policy is. when clerks wear these they are a turn - off to most customers. when you go to a job interview remember you are actually trying to " sell yourself " by convincing the interviewer you are the best person for the position.
I, personally liked a person who asked pertinent questions and was interested in how things were run. if the interviewer doesn't answer all the questions explaining what the benefits, responsibilities, etc. are ask.
I had a set standardized " explanation of the job
requirements " and then asked the person if they had any questions. as an example the company I worked for had a strict policy if you had been convicted or had a court date coming up for conviction of a felony then there was no way you could be hired. this was the first question I asked because if the person had a felony it was a waste of time. another question was about drugs, smoking, what hours were you willing to work, what about weekends, etc.
we had a 90 day probationary period which is pretty much standard but we stressed it was 90 working days not just 90 days.
please don't hesitate to ask any questions you are concerned about. I always made certain the Ladies hired knew I was not interested in romancing them as I wanted them to feel at ease.
good luck

The nerves are quite normal, it takes many interviews in my case probably about 30-40 before I felt truly confident. Just do your best then you can be happy with yourself.
Unfortunately your interviewers are going to be looking to see some confidence in the applicants because you would be working in a public customer facing environment in a busy shop.
Try your best to appear confident and dress very formal, smart and professional of course, and prepare well. Look up a few facts on River Island on the internet, so you can drop it into the conversation when appropriate. It would be useful to know how many stores they have in the UK say for example. Interviewers often expect a little research from their candidates, and if they are not expecting it, it won't do your chances any harm.
Good luck! (let us know how you get on)

Say you frequently shop there (even if you dont) so as a customer you know what customers expect from the staff (i.e. to be helpful, not keep you waiting too long) so you think you'd fit in well and know how to treat their customers well because you have an idea of what kind of queries they'd have.

Your actions speak for you. Dress modestly (appropriately), be polite, ask questions when invited to. Don't ask about salary unless it is brought up. When asked questions, only give relevant answers...like experience that you think will apply, but not too much detail, unless asked for more. Be sure your references know they are listed, and will give you a good recommendation.

relax, be happy and say, when they ask why you want to work for them that you love their clothes and the whole experience of being in their stores and you want to be part of it. Lick some a*s girl. Good luck
