When I worked in a clothing store, we steamed all of the garments before hanging them up on a rack.

They are a pain in the rear end, and leave both you and the clothes slightly limp. An iron does a much better job of crisping up the clothes, with nice creases in the sleeves, pleats, and slacks.

The best way to deal with the wrinkles in your clothes, is to pull them out of the dryer after only a couple of minutes. Hang them while damp on a hanger, and they dry crisp and relatively wrinkle free. A touch up with an iron may be needed to press the collar and sleeves, but it doesn't take more than half a minute.

I have a hand held travel steamer that takes about five minutes to heat up, but really works well on certain types of fabric. I have had better luck with hanging an item on a rack and spraying some of the new "Downey Wrinkle Release" on it and allowing it time to dry.
