everything sounds good on the left hand on the fret, but when i start to move in to the middle it starts to sound like ****... Heres a sample of what I mean.. http://www.sendspace.com/file/fwpg53

Is my guitar supposed to sound like this? I KNOW its in tune, but how do i get a more stable sound.. The first 3 sounds are from the first string, Then the next 3 on the second, then I continue onto the next string.. Is this a normal sound or just a crappy guitar?

I agree with Don. I think it's time to have your axe set up properly. String height(action), intonation, amount of relief(bow) in the neck makes a world of difference. Most guitars are mass produced and get very limited human attention before being shipped out to music stores. The reason most beginner guitarist get discouraged is because they think their guitar sucks when all it needs is to be properly set up.

basically sounds like you bought your guitar cos it was the cheapest you could find, none of these guitars will sound good becasue the pickups are pathetic, strings are to close to the fretboard and basically all of the hardware is generally s**t, so its probibaly the guitar.

I think you should see about getting your axe re-setup, maybe the action is too low or it's about time you got a tune up.

as for hardware there's usually no prob unless it's old, but you can always get those switched for newer (and better) ones.

Buy a boss heavy metal distortion online. I tremendously recommend it. It makes the worst guitar sound awesome.

P.S. It does other things besides heavy metal if you don't like heavy metal.

Go into a guitar center and ask for some help as well.
