Probably any disability that is readily apparent and seems to affect mental abilities. Some people will take advantage of those they view as "weaker" than themselves.

Blind people. People are ignorant, they don't know that blind folks know what money they are giving, and receiving back. That goes for most disabilities. I'm fluent in Sign Language, you should hear the stupid remarks hearing people make when they think you can't hear. Many long stories about ignorance. One I will share the cliff notes version, if you want to read. I was out with a large group of deaf folks. They have a tendency to stop in the middle of a path to talk. I was standing next to a table of nasty men. I didn't use my voice, so they assumed I was deaf too. When we were ready to move on, I turn to them and hit every nasty comment they had made, I was very angry. You shoulda seen their faces. It was a hoot to turn the tables on them.

I don't know of any studies--but based on my experience with the disabled population, probably those with intellectual disabilities.
You do hear horror stories about people who are blind being victimized--but its actually rare. Partly that's because most blind people are trained--and careful. Scam artists depend on the victim being careless, mor than anything else--so a careful person, even without vision, is a poor target. :) Personally, I've never had this tried on me (maybe for the above reasons.

people look at other people bad over everything now a days, if you spit on the ground they gonna talk about you. you aint gotta have a real disfigurement just to get short changed. it comes to you in life even if you don't ask for it. no matter where you are, someone is gonna get you. even the sweets of person will turn on you. and that will be enough to make you just about lose it. but don't theres more worthable things waiting for us. just shake that off of us and move on! say to yourself I'm better than that. and no matter where you are, feel the rush of the cool shower water pouring on your face. twist , turn take your 10 second shower. eyes open. now go handle your day.

Anyone who seems uncertain handling money and counting change. Foreigners, small children, people with head injuries, people who appear mentally challenged or easily confused. So many people dont even count their change, they just pick it up, shove it in their pocket or purse and leave.
For people who can handle it a bank card (Cdn) or cash card, is a better choice. The amount of purchase is displayed and if a person can remember what it should be they wont be cheated all the time.

I don't know. When I was a cashier I was accustomed to blind people just handing me their purse or wallet to take the money out, or handing me a note and asking me what it was, I wouldn't dream of lying to or stealing from them. Now I work with intellectually handicapped folks, and take them on social outings. I take control of their money, because they just aren't careful enough with it, I would never steal it though, that's just as low as a person can go.
