Nope. The demand for oil keeps increasing while new supplies are increasingly costly to find. In the US increased drilling off the coasts and in Alaska are prohibited by government. There is still plenty of oil locked in shale in the Rockies and in the Tar Sands in Canada; but need a price above $2.00 per gallon to be economical. In the price of gas is $.18 Federal Tax and in Washington State $.36 for a total of $.54 per gallon in taxes. Recently OPEC stated that they will reduce supplies if the west continues to drive more fuel efficient vehicles.

I don't see gas ever going down below $2 per gallon again. The oil companies and the politicians have the nation conditioned to these prices now that the initial shock is over.

Wait until early next year, that's when all the liberals will be telling you we'll see $1.50 or less at the pumps if you vote democrat. It'll be another one of their frauds like the whole draft coming back thing. But the fact is, it doesn't matter who is president. We'll never see $1.50 again.

It's called Inflation. The dollar is becoming worth less and less. It will steady increase for the worse as the future comes to pass.
This is offset by increase in wages and Federal minimum wage. Interest rates also play a role in this.

I seriously doubt it. Although I do remember when it was 99 cents in my city. And that was in 1999 or 2000

You kidding me..........I'd be happy if they'd be under 2.50/gallon. I live in Green Bay, WI and right now ours is 3.04/gallon....it's flippin' ridiculous.
