My little sister ask me if she start on a diet and excercise more starting today 7/2/2007 untill 8/1/2007 how much weight could she loose by then? She ask me but I didn't really know because I don't know anything about diets and excercise.

Obviously. Tell her that it's never a good idea to try to lose a certain amount of weight "by such and such a date." Those plans don't work, and it's not healthy. The most a person could safely lose in that amount of time would be 4 pounds. I'm assuming she's still very young. What do you parents think of all of this? There are safer ways to lose weight then crash diets. I hope they are aware of her desire to lose weight and if they aren't, you should probably alert them. And I hope they don't make a big deal out of it either, that can make a bad situation worse. A visit to the doctor is in order here for her to: 1. See if she really NEEDS to be worried about her weight, and 2. Advise her as to the best way to achieve her goal, within a safe timeline.

About 10 lbs (at about 1-2 pounds per week is safe) but I would recommend that she talk to her dr as well to see what they say.

5 pounds would be healthy. Any more is probably just loss of body fluids. And if you stop eating anything made from flower (bread) it is easy. Sugar is good but not pastry.

ask her not to go on a diet. its not good. if she wants, eat healthy food & go excersie. eat enery bars to give u energy. (: erm. it depends on how much effort she has put in. so, i think she can loose about, 7 pounds ?

well if it is 2 extremes you should b worried
if she is just eating more healthily and trying to exercise more than its fine but if she obsesses and does it in excessive amounts, i'd keep an eye on her if i was you.
it depends on how much she exercises and what she eats to see how much weight she looses

about 1-2 pounds per week is good. make sure shes eating healthy foods- dont let her stop eating all together! as long as she looks healthy and seems healthy to you( without her overdoing it), then shes fine. good luck!
