on a guitar, if u want to do one of those really loud squeals like, what Dimebag darryl or Matt Heafy of Trivium did, do you need anything special? or is it possible for all guitars with a whammy bar?

It's called the 'Digitech whammy' pedal
.Step on the pedal and it can take you two octaves higher.
Check it out here.

Yes sir, Pinch Harmonics are what yer talking about. What you do is edge your thumb close to the edge of the pick, maybe a bit over it. What is going to happen is your thumb has to rub the string at the same time as the pick is striking it. It's a feel thing, so don't get frustrated if you don't get it right at once. Give it some time, and feel out the sweet spot on your guitar for it, i.e., the place where if you use a pinch harmonic, the tone of it is the best. In order to hear harmonics of any sort the best, you need an amp with some decent distortion, because it sustains harmonics the best.

I believe what you mean is the thing he does after the pinch harmonic, using the whammy bar? In that case, you do a pinch harmonic, and then, using the whammy bar, lower or raise the pitch an extreme amount.

Are you talking about a like high tone pitch with one string? I think it's all in the amp you can get an acoustic guitar to do it if the amp is right normally it's the gain. Or for really intense effects the pedals, that can distort delay etc. Then you just hit the note and lift or lower the string while it's still ringing. God I hope this makes sense.

whammy bar lowers your pitch. what you're referring to is probably a technique called a pinch harmonic. not a neasy thing to do really in my experiecne, i'm not too great at them but if you look around you can find tutorials. try ultimate-guitar.com

Mute the string with your thumb while picking and you will get a high squealish type sound. It takes practice
