I had a job that meant I was a "goaffer" ie I would be the one in the office to do all the odd jobs like the mail - putting letters in envelopes. I would always end up with little paper cuts that stung terribly.
Also I was the one to deliver messages and get the coffees.
I didn't like my woaman boss because she swore a lot and would talk loudly about her personal life. I was 16 and she was 42 and I ended up hating my work.
I saw the big boss and got a transfer to a much bigger office with lots of girls doing typing. It was great and I stayed there for 2 yrs and eventually got a great job in a Government office. Good pay and good conditions where I stayed for the next 15 yrs. .

Mine was as a paperboy. (Newspaper delivery) 7 years old and delivered papers until I was fourteen. In between I also worked on the farm with bailing hay, as well as opening the fields and handling of the cows.
