Polls that are conducted on line don't get a representative sample of voters, so they're not accurate.

Polls that are conducted by phone by the major polling outfits - Pew, Gallup, Zogby, etc. are accurate to within the percentages they specify. If they were rigged, discovery would totally discredit the pollsters and they'd be out of business in no time. The polls exist because of their accuracy and predictive value.

It's honestly far too early for anyone to positively determine who's in the lead. Some of the popular candidates now could lose their high numbers by the time the primaries come around. Even many of the political pollers & analysts have said that it's far too early to determine a winner on either side, much less the actual winner of the presidency.

I'm not trusting any of it. Ask again after Super-Duper Tuesday; I'm sure many people will have an answer for you then.

I think even polls that ask people to call in by telephone can be misleading. Canadians can call 800 numbers like the FOX News republican debate poll where Ron Paul led the polls.

And with any poll about presidential candidates, the people they poll don't have to be registered to vote to give an opinion.

I would imagine online ones are. If you want statistically reliable polls go to the random phone poll sites that still show it between Rudi and Hillary.

They might not be "rigged" but they might not be valid because they do not represent a true cross section of those thatt will vote.
